Just In Time (JIT) Learning

Sitting in a classroom and following along as an instructor reads from a manual the size of a dictionary are the ways of yesteryear. Today's learner is accustomed to finding the answer to any question with minimal research in just a few minutes. So, even giving learners access to a well developed knowledge base as a resource, will still leave them wondering how they can get the answer now. Not soon, but now! This means having a library of quick tutorials where a large subject is broken down into bite sized pieces, is a way to cater to visual, auditory and hands on learners. Even better, it gives them just what they need to know, just in time. No need to read the entire chapter or watch a full lecture.

The quick tutorials below do just that. Two common issues that designers may not even know are possible, or maybe they know are possible but are unsure how to complete the task, are addressed in these demos. By seeing the process being executed, and without too much extra information, the learner absorbs and retains the information long term.

Setting a Themed Background in Storyline

The following screen recording created and edited in TechSmith Camtasia uses features such as; callouts, animation and zoom, splicing, stitching multiple types of media, and Closed Captioning (CC) for accessibility. The quick tutorial showcases a quick reminder on how to set a themed background to all slides in an Articulate Storyline project.
